Joana Vasconcelos is a young artist receiving increasing recognition. Her extremely inventive pieces are huge, funny, ironic, experimental, provocative, Portuguese, extremely simple and super elaborate.
This documentary is about the way life and work mix until they become the same and how her pieces are born from this medley, like the big shoe made with dozens of pots (presented at the Venice Biennale in 2007) or the outsized chandelier made with cotton tampons instead of crystal pendants (Venice Biennale 2005).
